I submitted an application, how do I know that you have received it?

You will receive a confirmation email from recruiting@atsondemand.com letting you know that we have received your application. If you have not received it, please check your spam folder in your email just in case it has been sent to the wrong inbox. If you still do not receive confirmation, please reach out to our Recruiting line at (530) 934-4641 ext 1100 for more information.

I got a confirmation email that my application was received. When should I expect a call?

NVIH reviews our applicants in accordance with our Native American Preference in hiring policy. Due to this, we may evaluate any qualified applicants belonging to an eligible tribe that qualifies for native preference before considering other applicants. This can impact the timeline for screening candidates. Due to the high volume of applicants, we are not able to contact all candidates who apply, only those who are selected for further consideration.

What should I bring to my interview?

A positive attitude, an open mind, and be prepared to discuss how your experience and education aligns with the role you have applied for. We also appreciate thoughtful questions. As part of consideration for every role, NVIH requests that you fill out the Employment Application provided with your invite, or at your interview, so that we have authorization to call the references listed, if selected for the role. We also ask that you bring copies of any licenses (Including DL/ID) or applicable documents showing qualifications that may pertain to your role.

I received an invite to an interview, but I cannot make the time in-person, what can I do?

Please reach out to the Recruiter that sent your invite or the Recruiting line at (530) 934-4641 ext 1100 so that we can explore alternatives. We may schedule a virtual meeting. If you are scheduled for a virtual meeting, please make sure to find somewhere quiet with a stable internet connection so that we can proceed with minimal interruptions. No-showing for an interview can impact future opportunities with our organization.

How long after an interview before I hear back regarding a decision?

This is a great question to ask at your interview to explore the timeline for the position you’ve applied for. Every role is unique and has an individual timeline impacting the decision-making process. Based on the position and the candidate pool, it could take days or weeks to select a candidate. We strive to select the right candidate for the role, rather than the quick-candidate. We make every effort to contact candidates if you are NOT selected for the position, and we welcome candidates to re-apply for other opportunities you are well-qualified for.

If I am offered a position, how long before I can start?

NVIH’s onboarding process takes roughly 2-3 weeks to complete, and our New Hire Orientation is generally held twice monthly. The pre-employment screening process includes a background check, and additional health screening requirements completed before your first day of orientation. In unusual circumstances, there may be unanticipated delays during the pre-screening process which require adjustment of your start date. Additional information will be discussed at the time a formal offer is made.

Can you tell me more about Native Preference?

Preference in filling vacancies will be given to qualified Native American applicants. In other than the above, Northern Valley Indian Health, Inc., is an Equal Opportunity Employer. If you belong to a federally recognized Native American tribe, we ask that you upload a tribal ID card or letter of tribal affiliation when you submit your resume and application. This helps us prioritize candidates and decreases delays in the screening process.

Do I need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to work for your organization?

We do require all employees to have current flu and COVID vaccinations (including any boosters for which you are eligible).

Is there an option to work from home?

Northern Valley Indian Health does not offer any work from home positions at this time. All of our positions work closely with the public and require in-person attendance.
