Mask Requirements After June 15th

While we are all excited to return to a sense of normalcy, NVIH will still require facemasks for all individuals entering our locations. This pertains to both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals. We will continue to follow CDC guidelines in an effort to promote a safe environment for not only our patients but also our staff. Social distancing and proper handwashing will still be practiced.

Masks are required upon entry and if you do not have one, one will be provided to you. Health screenings for both staff and patients will also continue to take place at our facilities. This screening includes a temperature check along with a series of questions. If you are experiencing symptoms, please call ahead to notify staff so they can provide you with proper entry procedures.

NVIH will continue to offer COVID-19 testing and vaccinations. We appreciate those who have already been fully vaccinated as it is a huge step toward a safer community. We are proud to have provided over 13,000 vaccines to date. Those who wish to receive a vaccine can contact any of our reception staff to schedule an appointment. Vaccines are available for individuals ages 12 and over.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to providing quality care in a safe environment.

Exceptions will be allowed for NVIH Tribal Consortium members living outside of the NVIH Service Delivery Area within the counties of Butte, Colusa, and Tehama.

All transports are to be scheduled through the patient transportation services scheduling staff. It is the patient’s responsibility to notify the scheduler of the need for transportation at the time the appointment is made, and to cancel the request by 12:00 p.m. the business day prior to the scheduled transport if transportation is not needed.

If you are currently experiencing symptoms of fever, cough, or shortness of breath you might need to be evaluated for possible coronavirus infection. Please call ahead to receive direction before going to a medical provider.

Remember, every person has a role to play to lessen the spread of this virus and to help prevent exposure to others. Much of protecting yourself and your family comes down to simple measures:

  • Washing hands with soap and water.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. If surfaces are dirty, clean them using detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection.
  • Avoiding touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your inner elbow.
  • Avoiding close contact with people who are sick.
  • Staying away from work, school or other people if you become sick with respiratory symptoms like fever and cough.
  • Following guidance from public health officials.

Please consult with your health care provider about additional steps you may be able to take to protect yourself–remember to call ahead first.

Important Healthcare Advisory

As you are aware residents of California that are currently covered by Medi-Cal will be asked to select a Medi-Cal Managed Care Plan for their medical needs. Northern Valley Indian Health has contracted with Anthem Blue Cross and California Health and Wellness. Both of these plans are Medi-Cal Managed Care Plans. Enrollment for these plans commenced on October 1st 2013, and coverage began November 1st, 2013.

We would like to take this opportunity to inform you as one of our established patients, that if you are eligible for a Medi-Cal Managed Care Plan you will need to select one of the plans and select our facility in order to continue healthcare with Northern Valley Indian Health. It is important to understand that if you do not select one of the Medi-Cal Managed Plans and a provider the State will make a selection for you and your care with Northern Valley Indian Health may be interrupted.

Northern Valley Indian Health is committed to continue to provide our patients with quality health care. We want to be of assistance to you so that your health care continues and is not interrupted. We are here to guide you through the process of applying for one of our enrollment coordinators to determine your eligibility status with one of the managed Medi-Cal Plans.

For those of you who are seeking a medical home in which to receive your health care, we welcome you to our clinics and invite you to call one of our enrollment coordinators to determine your eligibility status with one of the managed Medi-Cal plans.

We have a dedicated enrollment coordinator at each site to help you. We look forward to being of assistance.
