NVIH is currently providing in-person medical in addition to telehealth visits.

Is NVIH accepting new patients?

NVIH is always accepting new Native American patients. All other new patient appointments are subject to provider availability. Please call the clinic and staff will assist you in scheduling an appointment if available.

Is NVIH providing non-emergency dental services?

NVIH has resumed providing dental services for established patients.

Can I schedule a video visit with my provider?

Video visits are available for medical and behavioral health appointments. Please call the clinic to set up an appointment.

What do I do if I have symptoms related to COVID-19?

If you are experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms, please call ahead. Staff will advise you on how to proceed.

What COVID-19 related safety measures are you implementing?

Increased cleaning and disinfecting protocols, including thoroughly sanitizing rooms after each patient visit
Mandatory health screenings for all patients and staff before entering clinics
Requiring masks or face coverings in patient care areas for all patients and staff. If you do not have a mask or face covering, one will be provided to you.
Practicing safe social distancing throughout each clinic
Utilizing the appropriate PPE such as masks, gloves, gowns, etc. for all staff

Will I be required to wear a facemask when entering a NVIH health clinic?

Masks or face coverings are required in all NVIH patient care clinics. IF you do not have a mask or face covering, one will be provided to you.

What is Northern Valley Indian Health?

Northern Valley Indian Health is a private, non-profit Tribal organization of community health clinics that offer medical, dental, behavioral, and community health services. Currently, there are five Northern Valley Indian Health clinics that are located in Chico, Willows, Red Bluff, and Woodland.

Who can be a patient at Northern Valley Indian Health?

All patients are welcome at Northern Valley Indian Health.

What ages do you treat?

Northern Valley Indian Health provides medical treatment to adults and children of all ages. Northern Valley Indian Health provides dental treatment to adults and children.

Does Northern Valley Indian Health accept my insurance?

Northern Valley Indian Health welcomes most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Please contact the clinic in your area for details on the full list of insurance plans that we accept. IF you are not enrolled in any form of insurance we have staff that can assist you with determining if you are qualified for one of the Medi-Cal Managed Care Plans.

Do I need to make an appointment?

Yes, you will need to make an appointment. Plan to arrive 10 minutes early. We also offer our established patients same-day appointments that are filled on a first come, first serve basis.

How should I prepare for my visit to Northern Valley Indian Health?

Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled appointments. If this is your first visit plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early and bring the following:

Medical or Dental insurance card(s)
Immunization Card (if the patient is a child)
Tribal enrollment documents or verification
Download, print, fill out, and bring a new patient packet to your appointment

How can I get a copy of my medical records?

You can call our clinic and request an ROI (Release of Information) form be mailed to you or you can fill one out in person. You may select how your records will be given to you. Records can be emailed, faxed, mailed in, or given to you in person.

Does Northern Valley Indian Health have interpreting services?

Yes, Northern Valley Indian Health embraces the need to understand and meet the linguistic needs of patients/families by providing interpreter/bilingual services through the use of CYRACOM Language Solutions.

What type of healthcare providers work at Northern Valley Indian Health?

Northern Valley Indian Health is staffed by qualified Family Nurse Practitioners, Physicians Assistants, Dentists, Dental Hygienists, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Substance Abuse Counselors, and Marriage and Family Counselors.
