COMPENSATION
At NVIH, we are committed to providing staff with a fair and livable wages. Each position at NVIH is reviewed on an annual basis to ensure pay scales reflect current employment market conditions. When staff join NVIH, they can trust that their pay will be competitive, taking the entire compensation and benefit package into consideration.
ANNUAL INCREASES
Employee pay is one of the most principal factors for staff. As mentioned, we are committed to ensuring fair and livable wages for all staff. Adjustments are made annually based on market conditions for eligible staff. These annual adjustments consider employee performance, changes in the employment market, as well as cost of living.

ANCILLARY BENEFITS
In addition to group health insurance, NVIH also provides staff with Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment policy for employees at no cost. Employees have the option to buy-up policy benefits for themselves as well as add coverage for dependents, for a small additional premium.
NVIH also provides a platform for Aflac and Legal Shield enrollment at the employee’s preference and cost.
PAID TIME OFF
To provide the most flexibility to employees with managing their need to take time off, we provide a PTO policy which combines vacation pay and sick pay, all-in-one. Eligible employees accrue up to four (4) weeks per year to begin.
PAID HOLIDAYS
The nature of NVIH operations provides daily outpatient services to our communities. Thus, the standard business hours are 8am-5pm Monday through Friday. Employees appreciate the ability to get off work and not worry about who is covering the next shift because of our business hour model.
- NVIH provides fourteen (14) paid holidays for eligible staff. During these paid holidays, business operations are closed, which allows staff time off with family or personal reasons. These holidays include Indigenous Peoples day and Native American Day where we are permitted time off and can honor our Native American brothers and sisters.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE
We are sensitive to employee experience at NVIH and many of our work units for tight-knit work units. In the event staff suffer the loss of a family member, they may take up to three (3) days off, paid to tend to this event.
JURY DUTY
We support staff with their civic responsibilities. Thus, staff may be paid up to five (5) off for attending court due to a jury duty summons.
401k
Investing in retirement is an important benefit and many individuals begin retirement investing through their workplace. NVIH supports this by providing staff to participate in our 401k savings plan.
LICENSE RENEWAL
Healthcare requires licensure for many of our different staff members. You can trust that NVIH supports and provides reimbursement to licensed staff. Staff must be with the agency for six (6) months to be eligible for this benefit.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
Continuing to sharpen their skills through CE requirements, licensed NVIH staff can benefit from additional paid time off and reimbursement for the cost of their CE courses – upon approval by the Department Director.
LOAN FORGIVENESS PROGRAMS
As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) as well as an Indian Health Facility, NVIH clinics are qualified approved sites with National Health Service Corp (NHSC) through the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) <insert https://www.hrsa.gov/ Certain licensed staff working at our approved sites can apply for Loan Forgiveness programs that offer up to $100,000! BONUSES
We believe in paying fair base wages to staff. At times, our Board of Directors will approve bonuses for staff to recognize goals achieved or during the holidays. While NVIH has historically issued bonuses for a variety of reasons, bonuses are discretionary and not guaranteed.
Referral Bonuses are however, guaranteed to staff who are in good standing and refer others to work for NVIH, and are then hired. When a referred candidate is received, we understand the pride our employee has in their work and the work the agency does to warrant such a referral.
