March is National Nutrition Month – this year happens to be the 50th anniversary of the campaign started by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. Other noteworthy awareness campaigns include Drug & Alcohol Facts Week which runs March 20-26th, and Diabetes Alert Day on March 28th. NVIH will be sharing relevant content on these topics throughout the month. Be sure to follow us on our social platforms: Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
For the first few months of this year, NVIH has created and hosted events to engage with the community, our patients, and the public. In January, we partnered with the YOLO food bank in Woodland to provide food boxes. In February, we started our ten-week program called Bingocize, which runs twice a week for an hour. This program follows an evidence-based curriculum that raises awareness and relays education on fall prevention, followed by some exercises to stay healthy.
Both months were full of great experiences; NVIH truly enjoys these events to give back to our community. We are happy and grateful for all the support we have recently received on our social media platforms as engagement has significantly increased. Be on the lookout for information related to NVIH Health Fairs. My team and I are working diligently to share more fun and educational events, such as the ones mentioned. Everything you need to know will be posted on our calendar, which you can find on our social media platforms the first week of every month.
