Mission Statement
The mission of NVIH’s Behavioral Health Department is to address the needs of the communities it serves with culturally compatible Mental Health and Substance Abuse services. Towards this goal, we strive to create a comprehensive, integrated program.
Our vision is of a full circle of services that strengthen communities by assisting families and individuals in their struggles to heal from past injuries, recover from present challenges, and to walk this life in a good way.
Services Provided
Licensed or certified practitioners are available to provide confidential assistance with many areas of living including substance abuse, depression, anxiety, parenting issues, behavior problems, school failure, and family conflict.
Available Mental Health services include individual psychotherapy, play therapy, family therapy, sand play therapy, and referalls.
Eligibility and Appointments
Services are available on a priority basis to all American Indians and their families. All others are seen according to the availability of appointments. Services are free for verified American Indians. Insurance and Medi-Cal are billed. Services are available at both the Chico and Willows clinics.
